Traces of Love

February 12, 2008 by hyannisnews

wo.jpg

They’re like oil and water…

Drunks and drivin’….

Cats and dogs…

Cats and microwaves…

(Okay, maybe that one goes too far.)

But we all know they shouldn’t be together!

Joakim and Thoman…

Taryn and Janet…

But, they seemingly cannot get enough of each other!

The “RRRRAAARN” heard around the world.

The biggest online catfight since Hillary and Monica!

Hookin’ and jabbin’…

Duckin’ and dodgin’…

Kissing and hugging?  They say, there’s a fine line between love and hate.  They say, they only way to flatter an idiot is to argue with one.  They say, life is a box of chocolates.  But will we ever see the day when theses two kitty blog warriors will just give each other a big hug?  Kiss and make up?

Traces of their love spat are chronicled and maintained in cyberspace.  Traces of their undying devotion are evident on their blogs.  “Traces of love, long ago, that didn’t turn out right.”

TODAY’S TIFF: From Taryn’s FAKE “HYANNIS NEWS” BLOG (she’s sooo tricky):  Janet Joakim is mad as hell and she is not gonna take it any more! Stay tuned to Hyannis News for more exciting news about the infamous Barnstable Bully Janet Joakim!”

Janet’s most recent post: “gunman was a familiar figure at city hall.  Is Janet identifying with the tragedy in Kirkwood?  Scary stuff if so…  You decide, click and see —–à http://sevenvillagesblog.com/

In the meantime, let’s hope these two lovebirds finally cast their fate to the wind, because “love is in the air.”

RRRRRAAARN : The Cat Fur’s A-Flyin’

It went there today.  Things became an itsy-bit personal on the “Janet Joakim Recall” site, believed to be run by Taryn Thoman.  For those just tuning in, Joakim and Thoman are the usual combatants in what has descended into a daily online cat-fight.  (Today was also a low blow because Joakim’s children were pictured!)

.

In this corner, Taryn Thoman, the hard-hitting “kitty of doom”… and in the other corner, Janet Joakim, the dancer, “she floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee!”

Here’s a glimpse, this time Thoman retorts by scratching at Joakim’s eyes!  RRRRRAAARN!

From the Janet Joakim Recall site:

JUST THE FACTS, MADMAN!

Check it out. Barnstable Town Council President with the goofy bangs, Munster brows, teeth clenched and eyes all akimbo went to college for twenty years and never got a Bachelor`s degree! It shows in her ADHD writing style. Pick a person, any person, first, second, or third person, but be consistent and write in the same person from beginning to end, Rooster Crow!!!

BRIEF BLOG NEWS: Accusations Flying on Joakim’s Blog

February 11, 2008 by hyannisnews

These are actual comments just taken from Janet Joakim’s “Seven Villages” blog, http://sevenvillagesblog.com/2008/02/09/could-it-happen-here/#comment-1217, where one commenter strongly suggests that political pundit Taryn Thoman actually made threats of violence towards Janet Joakim.  There is, as of yet, no evidence to prove that this recent accusation is true.  Here are the actual comments from Joakim’s blog:

  1. Janet, After reading your updated information on the “from hate bloggers” link. I think it could happen. This woman Taryn Thoman is completely out of control. When she finally snapps and it appears that she will, look out. I hope you have forwarded all of her writings to the BPD. I am sure they would be interested in her threats. Good luck to you.

  2. Remember “Duck and Cover” commercials from the Cold War?

  3. Wait a minute. “Just Plain Weird,” are you saying that Taryn is actually making threats. Are these violent threats? Do you actually have proof of these allegations? Inquiring minds would like to know.

Gary Lopez Refuses to Take it with a Grain of Salt

February 10, 2008 by hyannisnews

saltpillars.jpg

Gary Lopez, champion of those baffled by Barnstable Politics, is a tireless critic of the absurd and downright silly “big government” leeching off the citizenry.

Here’s a look at Gary’s most recent poke at the joke:

It won’t be long before the honest folk in Barnstable hear voices as they drive out of town advising them not to look back, lest they turn into a pillar of salt….

The Sodomite’s sins were of property exemplified by their overwhelming pride in the extent of their wealth; “what is mine is mine, and most of what’s your’s is mine as well.”

Joakim fires back!

February 10, 2008 by hyannisnews

“There’s a new Sheriff in town!”

Janet Joakim fired back at bloggers today, showing apparent concern regarding town meeting security in light of the recent Kirkwood shootings where six people were killed.  On her blog “Seven Villages” Town Council President Janet “Go Ahead Punk” Joakim seems to be very concerned about the possibility of someone going POSTAL at any one of Barnstable’s many town meetings.  (Or could this be just another sly attempt to put further restrictions on town meeting commenters? – Or is Joakim really worried?)

Today, Joakim pledged to address the subject of possible mass shootings at public meetings.  On her blog Joakim says she will be looking at the issue over the next week or so.  Click here to visit Janet’s blog and learn more ——> http://sevenvillagesblog.com/   You go girl!

The following is a recent post on Joakim’s blog site:

…could it happen here?  by Janet Joakim

thumbnailgirlsvigilcitycouncil.jpg This is the question no one seems to be asking publicly – but many are asking privately.
A few of us have considered this in detail, and I will share some of those thoughts over the next few days.
Would it happen here?

Mo. town struggles after City Hall shooting

6 dead after man with a grudge against local leadership goes on rampage

updated 7:51 a.m. ET, Sat., Feb. 9, 2008
KIRKWOOD, Mo. – Some left flowers, balloons and memorials on the steps of City Hall. Others gathered at a prayer vigil where a bell tolled six times as mourners clutched white candles.

Residents of this St. Louis suburb struggled to heal as they tried to make sense of a shooting spree at a City Council meeting that left five people dead and the mayor fighting for his life. read the rest of this story

Is Joakim really “eyeballing” our 2nd Ammendment Rights?

February 10, 2008 by hyannisnews
Was it Janet Joakim on the COG site today arguing over the 2nd amendment?  You decide, http://www.capecog.com/capecog/2008/02/open-meeting-of.html#comments .  HyannisNews.com Blog Watch has learned that some citizens are apparently starting a petition to have her thrown out of office.  Keep an eye on CapeCog.com, Citizens for Open Government, for developments on this tiff.

The following are actual comments as they appeared on Gary Lopez’s blog:

JOAKIM EYEBALLING OUR 2ND AMMENDMENT RIGHTS AND WOULD LOVE TO RULE RATHER THAN GOVERN (FROM HER BLOG): Recent tragedy at Kirkwood Town Meeting reminds us that these arguments can grow out-of-hand. See story link:

Just saw this report on one of the cable news networks. He got through two policemen set up for security. Was known for his critisms and stories of conspiracy theories about his local goverment. Shot two policemen, two city councilors, the director of dpw and the mayor before he was killed by police.

Janet – There are two types of people that scare me. Males and Females.

Right now I’m getting in news on the wire regarding another school shooting in Louisianna.

The problem is that there is basically no way to tell for certain who will blow a microchip, and when…

I was never ever for guns on campus. But now I think different. When my kids attend university I would like them to be armed. At least that way they’d have a fighting chance.

When it comes down to it, nuts crazed enough to start shooting will find a weapon regardless, registered or not. Studies show that licensed owners are involed in far fewer crimes.

People are like de-clawed kittens when it comes to defending against a crazed gunman.

A friend asked me once… “do you wanna know why I carry a gun?” and when I admitted I didn’t know, he said, “Because a cop’s too heavy.”

Comment by jl — February 8, 2008 #
yikes – but with that logic everyone on campus would have a gun and that makes it frightening when you think of the emotional rollercoaster some of these kids experience during college years. And don’t forget that the gunman that shot the city councilors and the mayor got through two armed policemen first. – equally important – he took the gun from one of the policemen he killed.

Comment by JSJ — February 8, 2008 #

I know! untrained people should not carry guns… However, look at the rare times these crazed shooters have been stopped – not by onduty cops, but by off-duty armed men and women. It has reached the point, quite sadly, where the inocents need to have their 2nd ammendment rights on campus. Only if TRAINED. and only if ADULTS (18 and over). And Janet, my dear fellow parent, I also tend to view college students as “kids” and in many respects now-a-days they still are, but the reality is that they are legal ADULTS. Men and women should have the on campus right to protect themselves. Crazed gunmen are predators of oportunity. Crazed gunmen will think twice, at least not have the same “easy pickings,” if they knew in the back of their minds that someone on campus (anybody) might be a trained carrier of a concealed weapon. BTW- police, on average, receive less training than most responsible gun owners. and why should police, a privledged minority, be the only ones who can protect themselves? In today’s violent world, police rarely prevent these shootings, more often merely arriving afterwards to take the horrible report, and yes, sometimes they themselves are sitting ducks. Violent criminals have the advantage and that needs to change. I know, I would have responded with “yikes” not too long ago. But my kids are now trained at the use of firearms, safe handling and storage. Believe me when I tell you that being well trained in this form of self defense decreases their stress level. They feel safer. and when they turn 18 they will be getting their concealed carry permits. studies show that trained gun owners are less likely to be involved in or victimized by violent crime. I’m living in the here and now, that’s all.

“YIKES” JANET REMIND ME TO NEVER GO ANYWHERE NEAR YOUR “EMOTIONAL ROLLERCOASTER!” WHEN MY CHILDREN BECOME ADULTS THEY WILL NOT BE ON AN EMOTIONAL “ROLLERCOASTER” – I’LL GIVE THEM MORE CREDIT THAN THAT. MY ADULT CHILDREN WILL HAVE BEEN TRAINED AND TAUGHT TO SURVIVE, NOT BE A ‘VICTIM’ – JANET, DO YOU REALLY BELIEVE THAT PUBLIC OFFICIALS SHOULD HAVE MORE RIGHTS? DO YOU REALLY BELIEVE IN OVERTURNING OUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS, MAINLY THE 1ST AND 2ND AMENDMENTS? ARE YOU ONE OF THOSE WHO’D RATHER RULE THAN GOVERN, BECAUSE YOU BELIEVE YOU ARE IN SOMEWAY SUPERIOR?

the joker is a dangerous person. she’s not even qualified to hand out a dog license, let alone make decisions that effect us all.

unfortunately there are way too many people like her in our town “government.” these people really do believe in backwards power where the citizen and average voter is meant to be ruled over. there is no question, from what i’ve learned about the joker, that she actually believe she is above the rest of us. she’s very dangerous, like a dictator or monarch can be dangerous. town government in barnstable is out of control

2:05 Janet Joakim believes she is in all ways superior to you and all other plebes in town. She has said on the record that she THINKS she is the most powerful person in town. She has shown no respect for the wishes of her own constituents, or anyone else for that matter. Several attorneys have looked at her website and see big $$$ signs in libel suits against both brokeass Janet Joakim and the town, and then removed them because to many people caught site of her fangs. Daylight was upon her, and she had to delete and retreat to her coffin in the basement until time for town meeting in the evening. Too bad both Jokeass Mountain and the town will soon be on their way to bankruptcy court! 7 idiots site is copied several times a day as she edits often. For example, she posted the names of the 50 people who signed the recall affidavit petition against her last year on her website in an attempt to intimidate and brand them as haters of the town. In her mind ( a rotten, pulpy unholy mess), anyone who disagrees with Janet Joakim or the town HATES the town. This is what a twisted and pathetic wreck Janet Joakim has become. She is indeed dangerous, and I would suggest that given her endless threats against innocent citizens of the town, we submit another petiton to forbid her from both blogging and carrying firearms until she is recalled and tossed out of town politics forever.

Keeping an eye on the Intergalactic Blog Wars

February 7, 2008 by hyannisnews

darth.jpg

We live in world full of blogs.  The blogscape now has many great blog efforts, yet it is also riddled with dangerous bloglords.

At our news site, “HyannisNews.com,” it is our duty to provide our readers with news; but more importantly we recognize the need to offer readers a different perspective on our world.

At “HyannisNews.com Blog Watch” our mission is very similar to our news site HyannisNews.com.  At “HyannisNews.com Blog Watch” we also recognize the need to keep an eye on what has been described as bitter Blog Wars.  Our mission is to help our readers sort through all the hate and wanton ignorance.  At “HyannisNews.com Blog Watch” we will give you the truth without the spin.

Essentially, it is our duty to report on all blogs, especially those engaged in the “Intergalactic Blog Wars,” where the noble are pitted against misguided blog lords who push hateful propaganda with impunity.

Like all noble efforts we expect opposition in response to our candor.  Yet we offer readers our solemn vow that our reporting on the blog scene will not be influenced by certain Evil Empires.  We vow to continue to provide the truth, whatever the costs.

May the force be with you.
